A bowl of comfort, rooted in the Sunnah
Talbina is a soft porridge made from finely ground barley flour, gently cooked with milk and sweetened with honey. Its name comes from laban, the Arabic word for milk, because of its soft, milky appearance.
A respected tradition
Aisha (RA) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) described Talbina as comforting to the heart and easing sorrow.
Sahih al-Bukhari, 5417
We honour this tradition while treating Talbina as food, not a treatment.
Three simple ingredients
Barley flour brings the body, milk lends creaminess, and honey adds sweetness. Our dry blends are cooked at home with your choice of milk and sweetener.
Everyday nourishment
Barley provides carbohydrate energy and dietary fibre. A warm bowl can be a light, filling breakfast as part of a varied diet. Portions and nutritional content depend on the recipe. Barley contains gluten.
